Kenya Airways is the flag carrier airline of Kenya and was founded in 1977. It has a close association with Africa and firmly believes in being a part of the sustainable development of the continent.
Onboard Kenya Airways
The airline aims to deliver a world-class experience to travelers, and it also achieves this through constantly improving its range of destinations. This is possible due to strategic alliances with other airlines, and being a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. The airline has tie-ups with various airline companies to fly its passengers to as many destinations as possible. The carrier is committed to achieving a high degree of quality, and this is evident by the recognition granted to it by winning Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class 2013 at the World Travel Awards. The airlines won the Best Airline in Africa and Africa's Leading Airline-Business Class (for the fifth time) at the World Travel Awards 2016.
Connectivity and Fleet Information
Kenya Airways flies to all parts of the African continent, as well as destinations in the Middle East and India. Passengers from Saudi Arabia can connect from 17 airports in Saudi Arabia and make Kenya Airways online bookings to any of these places, as well as to others covered by codeshare agreements. The Saudi Arabian destinations include Al Bahah, Bisha, Dammam, Dawadmi, Gurayat, Hail, Jazan, Jeddah, Jouf, Qaisuma, Riyadh, Rafah, Sharurah, Tabuk, Taif, Wadi Ad Dawasir, and Yanbu.
Kenya Airways’ fleet contains many Boeing models and operates a total of 37 efficient aircraft. The aircraft include the Boeing 787-8-Dreamliner, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-300F, and Embraer E190. Services and In-Flight Meals
Passengers on Kenya Airways may choose from two cabin styles – Business Class and Economy Class. The Business Class services are also known as Premier World services. Passengers with a valid Kenya Airways boarding pass may relax in the comfortable lounges before boarding their flights by buying a lounge access pass. You can also enjoy the duty-free shopping experience by availing of Kenya Airways’ ‘Buy Before You Fly’ service, which even allows you to pre-order online.
Do not forget to check for seats with extra legroom at the time of making your booking. However, a few rules may apply, as these are located next to emergency exits. Through its Kool Flyers program, Kenya Airways also offers special discounts and a number of dedicated services for students under the age of 22 years traveling abroad.
Once aboard, passengers can choose from a range of cuisines and enjoy the in-flight entertainment. Most of the carrier’s aircraft are equipped with personal screens that offer you a number of entertainment options. If you want to spend some time reading, then you may enjoy MSAFIRI, the airlines’ in-flight magazine.
You may refer to Kenya Airways’ cancellation policy here in case you need to accommodate any changes to your itinerary or request a refund.
Kenya Airways’ Baggage Allowance
The airline’s baggage policy allows all passengers traveling to and from the Middle East to check in 2 pieces of baggage. With regard to hand baggage, Premier World Class passengers are entitled to 2 pieces of baggage and the Economy Class passengers may carry 1 piece of cabin baggage. In addition to this allowance, each Business Class passenger may carry 1 accessory, such as a handbag, briefcase, laptop, camera bag, or any other item that is smaller or of a similar size. The total weight of the carry-on luggage should not be more than 12 kgs for both the classes. Apart from the free cabin baggage allowance, passengers may also carry 1 duty-free bag into the cabin.
