This recently opened ridge-top property in Prini village, 3 km from Manali, is owned by well-known mountaineer and skier Khem Raj Thakur. His legacy of scaling over three dozen summits in the Indian Himalayas is reflected in the names of the cottages - ShirganTungu, DeoTibba, PhaKonda, Kharimindiyari - all peaks in the Himachal area.
A cottage comprises two bedrooms, a dining room, a seating area, a modular kitchen and a veranda. The top floors have sloping roofs and stunning, clear views of the mountains. The spacious rooms are welcoming with throw rugs, insulated wooden flooring, fireplaces and warm lighting. The food is simple and delicious like home-cooked food.
